Obama Gets Honest About Smalltown America's Decay...

What was "smalltown" America like 50 years ago?
It was pro-gun, pro-family, pro-religion.

Its not the result of a bad economy. Its just how rural living is.
I don't expect anyone from a big city to understand. Ever.

Talk about 50 years ago... just ask me.
I'm an immigrant from central Europe, arriving (not at Ellis Island) at the shores of the US in 1961. The "old country" upbringing I brought with me used to be the American way:
Don't buy anything you can't afford.
If you don't have the money you can't afford it.
Work for what you want, nobody is giving you something for free (How wrong now).

Spent most of my life in the Midwest, a few years in Wisconsin, but most of it in Illinois.
Basic values prevailed, until the onset of immigration from the east and west.
No more basic values....
Sheesh, I had to take five years of Latin in high school, don't remind me.
